Make a Come Back!
(Powys Group Spring Meeting)

Our Calendar Girls made a come-back when they performed for group members
at the Powys Group Spring Meeting, hosted by Llangynog WI on the 27th April.

(The last time our Calendar Girls performed was back in October 2019
when they appeared in the PMFWI Centenary Variety Show
at Theatr Hafren in Newtown. Here they are back stage.)

‘What Goes Around, Comes Around’

The speaker for the evening was Dr. Ann Hutchinson, who is well known locally as an expert in the benefits and preparation of herbal remedies. Ann wrote her talk ‘What goes around, comes around’, especially for the occasion.

Before visiting members tucked into an exceptionally delicious supper, they were treated to a wonderful performance of our Calendar Girl skit.

Even though one of our girls was away on holiday ‘the show must go on’ and Ann Morgan bravely came to the rescue by stepping in. Our newest member, Catherine, played the keyboard and Maureen expertly supported Anne Hill with all the introductions.

Llangynog members worked extremely hard organising what turned out to be a very successful event, providing raffle, teas and a very tasty supper. Not forgetting Mary’s delicious ‘purple gargle’ which greeted guests on their arrival!

The competition was: ‘Design and make a crown or tiara’.

THE WINNER

Llangynog member, Joanne Hill, was awarded the Meifona ELLIS MORRIS Cup!
